In 1971, a young man with a passion for farming in East Texas began selling used tractors at, what was then, a tractor dealership on the loop in Palestine, TX.
With only 4 service bays and $1000, Harold Gilbert Jr. has built a company that is a testament to the integrity and honesty with which he does business. In the last 50-plus years, Dogwood Sales and Service has grown from a 3,000-square-foot facility to a 20,000-square-foot facility in order to accommodate 32 service bays, 600,000 parts, and more state-of-the-art diagnostic and repair equipment than you can shake a stick at.

Dogwood Sales and Service still sits on the same 5 acres and still operates with the same goal in mind: Give people a good value by charging affordable prices for top-quality services in a reasonable amount of time.
Mr. Gilbert prides himself on stocking more parts than anyone in East Texas–not because he’s a prideful man but because he cares about his customers. More parts means customers will be back on the farm faster, whether they purchase parts to make their own repairs or have our qualified mechanics handle it from start to finish.

Dogwood Sales and Service has been around so long, it’s become part of the very fabric of Palestine, TX. Mr. Gilbert truly relishes the relationships he’s built with the good Texans in the agricultural community in and around East Texas. He especially appreciates the opportunity to help his customers solve the problems they face on the farm.
The people in Palestine and the surrounding area have been good to Dogwood Sales and Service. So Mr. Gilbert is proud to be a big supporter of the Anderson County Youth Livestock Show.
Over the years, Dogwood Sales and Service has purchased livestock at auction from 33 young people. Stop by the office to visit with Mr. Gilbert, and he’ll show you the pictures of each one!
